Object: IC5146 Constellation: Cygnus Distance: 3,000 light-years Magnitude: 9.6 Comments: IC5146, the Cocoon Nebula, is a very diffuse star-forming region of glowing hydrogen surrounded by a sparse cluster of approximately 12th magnitude stars. The star in the center of the nebula is a mag. 9.6 star.
