NGC5351-NGC5349
DETAILS:Imaged in April 2004 with the 12.5" Truss RC at f9 on an ME Robotic German Equatorial Mount using an ST-10XME SBIG camera, and guided by an AO-7 (Adaptive Optics Device). Luminance is unbinned at 110 minutes and RGB frames are 30 minutes each binned 2, using Tru-Balance filters. Processed with RegiStar, MaxIm DL, and Photoshop CS.
COMMENTARY: NGC5351 and NGC5349 are distant gravitationally interacting galaxies in the Constellation Canes Venatici. According to Adam Block, the redshift data indicates these two galaxies are approximately 150 million light-years distant. Many other very faint background galaxies can be seen in the somewhat noisy background.
